Father Of Pahalgam Attack Victim Demands Severe Action Against Terrorists

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: Sanjay Dwivedi, a resident of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, is still struggling to cope with the heartbreaking loss of his son, Shubham Dwivedi, who was killed in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. According to Dwivedi, his son had visited the scenic spot “mini Switzerland” in Pahalgam with his wife and sister-in-law when the tragic attack occurred.

Dwivedi shared the horrifying details of the attack, revealing that his son’s wife, who survived the incident, begged the terrorists to kill her too. However, the terrorists spared her life, telling her that they were leaving her alive to act as a witness to convey a message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“They stopped at a restaurant 7 km before reaching the destination. While they were having snacks, terrorists arrived and asked about their religious identity. Upon learning that Shubham was a Hindu, they shot him in the head. My daughter-in-law asked them to kill her as well, but they didn’t. They told her that they would leave her alive so she could tell Modi about what had happened,” Dwivedi explained in an interview with ANI.

Following the tragedy, Dwivedi, accompanied by his family, met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Srinagar to demand justice. In his heartbreaking response to the attack, Dwivedi demanded that the harshest possible action be taken against the perpetrators. He said, “Strict action should be taken against the terrorists. They (terrorists) said to my daughter-in-law that we are not killing you so that you can tell it to Modi. Action should be so severe that their seven generations would never dare to kill anyone again.”

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam claimed the lives of 26 individuals, including both locals and tourists. In response, India has announced a series of diplomatic measures aimed at sending a strong message to Pakistan for its support of cross-border terrorism. Among the measures, the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 has been put on hold, and the Integrated Checkpost at Attari has been closed immediately. Pakistani nationals will also no longer be permitted to travel to India under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri addressed the media following a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), during which the terror attack was discussed in detail. Misri confirmed that Pakistani nationals would be banned from entering India under the SAARC scheme and announced a reduction in the number of diplomatic staff in both countries.

The Pahalgam terror attack, which occurred at Baisaran meadow, is one of the deadliest in the region since the 2019 Pulwama strike, which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF jawans. Citizens across India are deeply shaken by the attack and are demanding severe action against those responsible.
