Jodhpur Horror: Father Detained For Allegedly Raping Two Daughters For 12 Years

JODHPUR, RAJASTHAN — In a chilling case of domestic predatory behavior, the Jodhpur police detained a 45-year-old man on Thursday, January 15, 2026, for the repeated sexual assault of his two daughters. The arrest follows a brave email complaint sent by his elder daughter, who is now 18, detailing a cycle of abuse that allegedly began when she was just six years old.

1. The Complaint and Investigation

The survivor’s email reached the police on January 13. Recognizing the gravity of the allegations, officials acted immediately to secure a formal written statement.

  • Decade of Abuse: The 18-year-old alleged that her father began raping her 12 years ago, using death threats to ensure her silence. The most recent incident involving her reportedly occurred just one month ago.
  • The Younger Sister: The abuse expanded to include her 15-year-old sister. The younger girl confided in her elder sister after a recent assault, prompting the two to tell their mother and subsequently alert the authorities.
  • Police Action: Assistant Commissioner of Police Manglesh Chundawat confirmed that the survivors have undergone medical examinations, and their statements have been recorded under the supervision of women officers.

2. Legal Charges and Arrest

Following the registration of the First Information Report (FIR) at the Nagori Gate Police Station, the accused initially went into hiding but was successfully tracked down.

  • BNS and POCSO: The case has been registered under Section 65(2) (Punishment for rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, given the minor status of the younger sister and the historical abuse of the elder.
  • Judicial Custody: The accused was detained Thursday evening and is scheduled to be produced before a magistrate on Friday, January 16.

3. Support for Survivors

Local authorities have emphasized that the survivors are being provided with counseling and protection.

  • The SHO’s Statement: Nagori Gate SHO Dinesh Kumar noted that the father’s primary tool was fear. “He threatened to kill her if she told her mother or any other family member,” Kumar stated, explaining why the abuse remained hidden for over a decade.
  • Public Outrage: The case has sparked significant outrage in Jodhpur, with activists calling for fast-track trial proceedings to ensure the safety of the young women.
