Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 18: Acclaimed filmmaker Faruk Kabir, known for the Khuda Haafiz film franchise, is set to return with a gripping new series titled ‘Salakaar’, which will premiere on August 15, 2025, coinciding with Independence Day.
According to the makers, Salakaar revolves around a decorated spymaster who, using a combination of sharp intelligence and sheer determination, thwarts enemy plots to protect the nation’s security.
Commenting on the show’s theme, Faruk Kabir said,
“Salakaar is not just a spy thriller—it’s a deeply emotional narrative about fractured legacies and the cost of silence. We explore espionage not only as a mission but as a burden, a generational debt.”
Alok Jain of JioStar, the production banner behind the series, emphasized the platform’s vision to deliver impactful storytelling:
