Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, had a lot of scary security problems at a motorbike rally in Bihar’s Purnia district today. The widely shared videos of the events have generated severe concerns regarding the Congress leader’s safety during his ongoing “Voter Rights Yatra.”
The biggest mistake happened when a really devoted fan got near to Gandhi and kissed him on the cheek before security guards had to pull him away. The video of the incident shows the man being pulled aside and slapped by a bodyguard.
The motorbike style of the rally, with Bihar Congress President Rajesh Kumar riding as a pillion passenger with Gandhi, made it especially hard to keep things safe. Foot-patrolling security agents were observed falling behind the moving caravan over and over again, which let supporters rush reach the Congress leader’s bike.
People who use social media have pointed out many security problems throughout the event. One person on the internet published pictures and said, “People were easily getting close to him, hugging him, kissing him, and even pulling his hand while he was riding his bike.” There weren’t enough guards to keep the crowd around him in check.
One of the highest levels of protection in India is Z+ security for Rahul Gandhi. However, this episode adds to a history of security issues. Previous reports from central paramilitary forces have said that the commander himself has broken security rules at public events on more than one occasion.
Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav have been campaigning against alleged problems in the state’s voter rolls during the 16-day “Voter Rights Yatra.”
