Secunderabad (Telangana) [India]: In a heart-wrenching incident, a family of four was found dead by hanging at their residence in Habsiguda, under the jurisdiction of Osmania Police Station.
According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Chandrashekhar Reddy, a private employee, his wife Kavitha, and their children, Shritha Reddy (9th grade) and Vishwan Reddy (5th grade). Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation into the tragic deaths.
Death Penalty in 2018 Honour Killing Case
Meanwhile, in a separate case, the Nalgonda court in Telangana awarded the death penalty to Subhash Sharma, the second accused in a 2018 honour killing case. The case involved the murder of Pranay, a Scheduled Caste (SC) man, orchestrated by his wife’s father.
According to the police, the primary accused—Pranay’s father-in-law—had hired Subhash Sharma to commit the murder. The father-in-law, however, died by suicide before the verdict.
Nalgonda Superintendent of Police (SP) Sharat Chandra Pawar confirmed that the chargesheet was filed in 2019 under multiple sections, including the Prevention of Atrocities (PoA) Act.
“It is a case of honour killing where the girl’s father had killed her husband, who belonged to an SC community, by hiring a gang. We registered the case in 2018 under SC/ST, conspiracy, and murder charges. The chargesheet was filed in 2019,” SP Pawar stated.

- Accused A3 to A8 have received life imprisonment for their roles in the crime.
- The main accused (A1), Pranay’s father-in-law, had hired A2 to A5 for the killing.
