In a heartfelt loss for the Kapoor family, Nirmal Kapoor, mother of veteran actor Anil Kapoor, passed away at the age of 90 on Friday, May 2. She had been briefly hospitalized at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai before peacefully passing away.
On Saturday morning, close family and friends gathered at the Kapoor residence to pay their final respects. Anil Kapoor, his brothers Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, sister Reena Kapoor, and several grandchildren including Arjun Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor were in attendance.
Also seen among the mourners were Anil’s wife Sunita Kapoor, Sanjay’s wife Maheep Kapoor, and industry veterans including actor Anupam Kher and Neila Devi, wife of the late Shammi Kapoor.
On Friday evening, Anil Kapoor personally accompanied his mother’s mortal remains in an ambulance to their family home, joined by Sanjay, Reena, and Arjun Kapoor.
The funeral was scheduled for 11:30 AM on Saturday, May 3, at the Vile Parle Crematorium on S.V. Road, Mumbai.
Nirmal Kapoor, wife of late film producer Surinder Kapoor, leaves behind a powerful legacy through her four children—Boney, Anil, Sanjay, and Reena Kapoor Marwah—and grandchildren including Rhea Kapoor, Harsh Vardhan Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, and Mohit Marwah.
The Kapoor family has received an outpouring of love and condolences from across the film fraternity and fans alike.
