Former Telangana Chief Minister and BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was admitted to a private super-speciality hospital on Thursday after complaining of weakness, according to a hospital statement.
As per the hospital, “KCR was kept under close observation.”
Doctors at Yashoda Hospital revealed that preliminary tests indicated high blood sugar levels and low sodium levels, which likely contributed to his discomfort. Medication has been initiated to stabilize both conditions.
“Medication was started to control diabetes and to increase sodium levels,” the hospital said in a release.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy checked in on KCR’s health, speaking directly with the medical team to ensure the former CM receives the best possible care.
“The CM wished that Rao should recover quickly and return to normal life in public service,” an official statement said.
This marks another health challenge for KCR, who earlier in December 2023, shortly after losing the Telangana Assembly elections, suffered a fall at his residence. He underwent successful surgery for a total left hip replacement.
Doctors have not issued a discharge timeline yet, but officials say he is under round-the-clock monitoring and responding to treatment.
