Exit Polls Predict BJP Win In Delhi, AAP Trails; Congress Struggles To Gain Ground

New Delhi [India]: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to form the next government in Delhi, with the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) falling behind, according to most exit polls released on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Congress is expected to continue its poor performance in the assembly elections.

While different exit polls projected varying margins of BJP’s victory, one survey indicated that the party could win 51-60 out of 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly. However, two exit polls predicted an AAP victory.

Voter Turnout and Past Performance

Delhi recorded a 57.70% voter turnout till 5 PM on Wednesday. The votes will be counted on February 8 to determine the final outcome.

AAP has dominated Delhi’s last two assembly elections. In 2020, AAP won 62 out of 70 seats, while BJP secured eight seats. Congress, which once ruled Delhi for 15 years, failed to win a single seat in the last two elections.

With most exit polls favoring BJP, all eyes are now on February 8, when the final results will reveal if Delhi’s political landscape is set for a major shift.
