On Tuesday, his daughter, actress Esha Deol, directly refuted reports of her father’s demise, confirming that he is “stable and recovering.”
Dharmendra was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Monday after his health worsened. The news immediately led to an outpouring of concern from fans and industry colleagues but also triggered a wave of unverified reports and death hoaxes in the media.
Esha Deol’s Statement on Instagram
Esha Deol took to her official Instagram handle to address the situation and request respect for the family’s privacy:
“The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable & recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery.”
Family Unity in Dispelling Rumors
Esha’s statement follows similar assurances made earlier by her step-brother, actor Sunny Deol, and her mother, actress and politician Hema Malini.
- Sunny Deol’s Team had released a statement urging the public not to indulge in “spreading false rumours”:”Mr Dharmendra is stable and under observation… Kindly don’t indulge in spreading false rumours regarding his health. Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”
- Hema Malini had also informed fans on Monday that Dharmendra was “in the hospital for observation” and being “continuously monitored,” requesting prayers for his welfare.
The multiple reassurances from the family emphasize the gravity of the situation created by the false reports and the collective effort to manage the immense public interest while maintaining patient privacy.
