Errol Musk, the 79-year-old father of billionaire Elon Musk, has been charged with sexually assaulting five of his children and stepchildren since 1993, according to The New York Times. The report cites family member interviews, personal letters, and emails suggesting that Errol maintains significant influence over much of the family.
The allegations may explain why Elon Musk has largely remained detached from his father. Family members have reportedly reached out to Elon for support, and he has occasionally “taken action to intercede,” according to the report.
Errol Musk Responds:
Errol dismissed the report as “false” and “nonsense,” claiming that family members fabricated the allegations to obtain money from Elon. He said he was aware of only one complaint but provided explanations for two others. Errol also stated that he and Elon are “very close” and get along well.
Elon Musk on His Father:
Elon has publicly criticized his father in the past. In a 2017 Rolling Stone interview, he called Errol a “terrible human being,” claiming, “Almost every crime you can possibly think of, he has done. Almost every evil thing you could possibly think of, he has done.” In his 2023 biography, Elon also confirmed that he no longer talks to his father.
The New York Times reportedly reached out to Elon and his personal attorney for comment, but neither responded.
