SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA – Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk, spoke publicly for the first time today since her husband’s murder on September 10. She told a very personal and painful narrative about how she had to tell their little daughter about his death.
In a speech that was streamed live, Erika got emotional as she talked about the moment she got home to her two kids: a son who turned one in May and a daughter who turned three in August. Her daughter ran to her and asked the question that had been on her mind: “Where’s Daddy?”
Erika, who was clearly crying, talked about how hard the situation was. She asked, “What do you say to a three-year-old?” She then told her child the touching and heartfelt answer she provided. “I told him, ‘Baby, Daddy loves you so much that he’s on a work trip with Jesus.’ That way, he can pay for your blueberries.”
Erika utilized the forum to promise that her husband’s teachings will go on, in addition to this terrible personal experience. She thanked everyone who has helped her family and Turning Point USA, the non-profit organization her husband started. She thanked Vice President JD Vance in particular for sending Erika to Arizona on Air Force Two and her sympathies.
Erika also had a special message for Donald Trump, who is a close friend of Charlie Kirk. “Mr. President, my husband adored you and he knew you loved him too. You were a great friend. “You helped him so much, and he helped you too,” she remarked.
A 22-year-old man from Utah named Tyler Robinson has been detained in connection with the deadly shooting. The FBI has him in custody, and even though officials found bullet casings with anti-fascist messages on them, they haven’t given an official reason yet. The inquiry is still going on, and reports say that authorities are now looking into the potential of an accomplice. This is because doorbell camera footage apparently showed a person, thought to be Robinson, on the phone regarding the shooting just after it happened.
