Washington DC [US], March 12: The highly anticipated series Dexter: Resurrection has just added a major star to its cast—Emmy-winning actor Eric Stonestreet, best known for his portrayal of Cameron Tucker on Modern Family. Stonestreet will play a character named Al, a role believed to be that of a serial killer. His appearance will be part of a four-episode guest arc.
Other well-known actors joining the series include Krysten Ritter and Neil Patrick Harris, both of whom are expected to play potential serial killers as well.
The series will continue the story of Michael C. Hall’s iconic character, Dexter Morgan, with a talented main cast that includes David Zayas, James Remar, Jack Alcott, Uma Thurman, and Peter Dinklage.
Filming has been ongoing in New York since January, and Dexter: Resurrection is set to be released this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime, according to Deadline.
Clyde Phillips will return as the showrunner, with Hall also serving as an executive producer. The series will feature Monica Raymund and Marcos Siega as directors.
Stonestreet, a two-time Emmy Award winner, is widely recognized for his role on Modern Family and has also appeared in The Santa Clauses, American Auto, and The Toy Box.
Earlier this month, Krysten Ritter also joined the cast, taking on a guest role as “Mia,” though no further details about her character have been revealed, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Following the success of Dexter: New Blood, the prequel Dexter: Original Sin premiered last year, ending its run with a highly successful finale that attracted 2.68 million global viewers, making it Showtime’s most-streamed global original series in a decade.
