Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 7: Actor Emraan Hashmi is all set to return to the big screen with his upcoming film Ground Zero, a gripping action-drama inspired by a real-life BSF mission hailed as the force’s best operation in the last 50 years.
Set in the early 2000s in conflict-ridden Kashmir, the film sees Emraan portraying BSF officer Narendra Nath Dubey — the man who led the high-stakes mission that resulted in the elimination of dreaded terrorist mastermind “Ghazi Baba”.
The trailer for Ground Zero was launched on Tuesday, offering a glimpse into the intense, emotional, and patriotic journey of soldiers operating in one of India’s most volatile regions. A standout dialogue from the trailer, “Ab Prahaar Hoga,” captures the grit and determination of a soldier on the brink, ready to retaliate.
At the trailer launch in Mumbai, Emraan shared his thoughts on the film: “There’s an old phrase — sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. That’s exactly what this story is. When I met Mr. Dubey for the first time, I told him his real-life mission was more cinematic than anything we could script. It’s an extraordinary tale of bravery.”
Directed by Tejas Deoskar, Ground Zero is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, with co-producers Kassim Jagmagia, Vishal Ramchandani, Sundeep C Sidhwani, Arhan Bagati, Talisman Films, Abhishek Kumar, and Nishikant Roy. The film also stars Sai Tamhankar and is scheduled for theatrical release on April 25.
