Elliot Page, Himesh Patel Set To Star In Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

Los Angeles [US], February 1: Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, and Samantha Morton have joined the supporting cast of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey, a cinematic adaptation of the epic poem by Homer.

Page, known for his role as Ariadne in Nolan’s Inception (2010), returns to collaborate with the director, while Patel, who appeared in Tenet (2020), also joins the project. Irwin, famous for voicing the robot TARS in Interstellar, will contribute to this mythic action epic.

Described as a “mythic action epic,” the film aims to bring Homer’s legendary tale to life like never before. Shot using groundbreaking IMAX technology, it promises an immersive visual experience. Universal Studios, in a statement, highlighted the scale of the project, stating, “Christopher Nolan’s next film, The Odyssey, will be a world-spanning mythic action epic, presented in IMAX film for the first time.”

The film, slated for release on July 17, 2026, also features a star-studded cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, and Benny Safdie.

Based on one of the most iconic works in Western literature, Homer’s The Odyssey follows the heroic journey of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, as he struggles to return home after the Trojan War. Along the way, he faces divine forces, mythical creatures like the Cyclops Polyphemus, and the tempting Sirens, exploring themes of heroism, loyalty, and perseverance, ultimately culminating in his reunion with his wife, Penelope.
