Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 7: Eid al-Adha celebrations in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district concluded peacefully, with strong security measures in place and high levels of public cooperation, according to Sambhal Superintendent of Police KK Bishnoi.
Speaking to ANI, SP Bishnoi confirmed that the festival passed without any disturbances, with five companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), Rapid Response Force (RRF) personnel, and drone surveillance ensuring smooth conduct and timely disposal of remains following the sacrificial rituals. “Eid namaz has been peacefully conducted across all five circles of the district,” he noted.
To maintain order, a time limit for celebrations was enforced, and social media platforms were closely monitored. “Toll-free helplines have also been provided to the public. We’ve reminded everyone through peace committee meetings not to take the law into their own hands, and so far, everyone has followed the guidelines,” Bishnoi added.
District Magistrate Rajendra Pensiya earlier shared that a three-tier security system was established, comprising Sector Magistrates, General Magistrates, and ground forces. Patrolling and flag marches were conducted in advance to maintain peace.
Pensiya emphasized that residents had agreed to conduct sacrificial rituals only at pre-designated, traditional locations. “There have been no issues reported, and the cooperation from the public has been commendable. The administration and police have made adequate arrangements,” he said.
