Gurugram (Haryana) [India], February 16: Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran wowed the audience in Gurugram as part of his ‘+ – = / x’ India tour. The British artist not only captivated fans with his hit songs but also made a special gesture by wearing the official Indian cricket team’s jersey on stage, much to the delight of his fans, especially with the ICC Champions Trophy making its return soon.
The crowd was treated to an electrifying setlist featuring fan favorites like ‘Take It Back/Superstition/Ain’t no Sunshine’ mashup, ‘Shivers’, ‘I’m a Mess’, ‘Photograph’, ‘Happier’, ‘Love Yourself’ (originally by Justin Bieber), and ‘Perfect’.
The event kicked off with a warm-up performance by Lisa Mishra, who entertained the crowd with renditions of songs like ‘Mujhe Tum Nazar Se’, ‘Kabira’, and ‘Sajna Ve’.
Ed Sheeran brought his record-breaking ‘+ – = / x’ Tour to Delhi-NCR after thrilling audiences in Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Shillong. AEG Presents Asia and BookMyShow Live produced and promoted the tour.
Expressing his gratitude, Ed said, “The last three weeks in India have been magical. I’ve learned a lot. Thank you for welcoming me and hopefully I will come back soon!” He ended the night with a performance of ‘Bad Habits’, after rocking out to ‘You Need Me, I Don’t Need You’ and ‘Shape of You’.
Recently, Ed Sheeran received praise from Jr NTR for his performance of the Telugu song ‘Chuttamalle’ from the film Devara in Bengaluru. Jr NTR, who stars in Devara, shared a video of Ed’s performance and wrote, “Music has no boundaries and you proved it again Ed! Hearing you sing Chuttamalle in Telugu is truly special.” Actress Janhvi Kapoor also re-shared the post, expressing her joy at hearing Ed perform the song in his own style.
During his Chennai concert, Ed Sheeran was joined on stage by legendary composer AR Rahman. The two performed a rendition of the iconic track ‘Urvashi’. Before the concert, Ed met with Rahman and his son AR Ameen, and Rahman shared photos from their meeting, captioned “Photos by Ed Sheeran.”
