EaseMyTrip Issues Travel Advisory Against Non-Essential Visits To Turkey, Azerbaijan Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions

New Delhi [India]: EaseMyTrip.com, one of India’s top online travel technology platforms, has issued a travel advisory urging travellers to avoid non-essential trips to Turkey and Azerbaijan. The advisory comes in light of rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the launch of India’s Operation Sindoor.

In a post on X, EaseMyTrip said:

“Following the Pahalgam attack and escalating tensions between India & Pakistan, travellers are urged to stay aware. As Turkey & Azerbaijan have shown support for Pakistan, we strongly recommend visiting only if absolutely necessary. Stay informed. Travel responsibly.”

EaseMyTrip Co-Founder and Chairman Nishant Pitti also took to X to express concern about the situation and emphasized traveller safety:

“Deeply concerned by the recent developments. At EaseMyTrip, the safety of travellers is our top priority. We advise all our customers to exercise utmost caution and stay updated on official travel advisories before planning trips to sensitive regions.”

Amid escalating regional tensions, multiple airlines have released advisories for passengers. Travellers are being asked to arrive at airports at least three hours before departure and to carry valid government-issued photo ID.

SpiceJet announced the cancellation of flights to and from six airports in northern India due to heightened security and airport closures after the initiation of Operation Sindoor by Indian Armed Forces in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

In its advisory, SpiceJet stated:

Flights to and from Leh, Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Kandla, and Dharamshala have been suspended, and these airports will remain closed until 5:29 AM IST on May 10.

Similarly, IndiGo has also cancelled operations in 11 cities across northern, northwestern, and central India, following directives from aviation authorities regarding airport shutdowns. Affected cities include Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Gwalior, Kishangarh, and Rajkot, with flight operations suspended until 5:29 AM IST on May 10.

Operation Sindoor, launched by the Indian Armed Forces, targeted terrorist infrastructure associated with groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed in Pakistan. The mission was carried out in retaliation for the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives.
