India’s second-largest travel booking platform, EaseMyTrip, has strongly denied any links to the Mahadev Betting App, following Enforcement Directorate (ED) searches at its Gurgaon office as part of a wider probe into the online betting syndicate.
“EaseMyTrip has no association with the Mahadev Betting App or any other betting platform, either directly or indirectly,” the company said in an official statement to media, adding that it is fully cooperating with the investigating authorities to ensure complete transparency.
The ED conducted coordinated raids on over 50 premises of individuals and companies on Wednesday. According to sources involved in the investigation, no incriminating evidence was found at the EaseMyTrip office.
A company spokesperson further reiterated: “We have extended full cooperation to the authorities and will continue to do so throughout the course of the investigation.”
EaseMyTrip, founded in 2008 by brothers Nishant, Rikant, and Prashant Pitti, started as a spin-off from their earlier venture, Duke Travel, with the goal of reducing operational costs while offering seamless online travel solutions.
Meanwhile, the ED’s investigation into the Mahadev Online Book betting network has revealed a complex international operation allegedly headquartered in Dubai. The syndicate is accused of running illegal betting platforms by franchising user ID generation and operations under a 70-30 profit-sharing model with known associates.
The probe stems from FIRs filed by the Chhattisgarh Police, with the ED alleging large-scale money laundering through Benami accounts as part of the betting network’s operations.
As of now, EaseMyTrip remains unimplicated, and investigations are ongoing.
