EAM S. Jaishankar Hosts Global Leaders At The 29th CII Partnership Summit

New Delhi [India]: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar met with several international leaders and ministers during the 29th CII Partnership Summit in New Delhi, discussing India’s growth story and its potential for global partnerships.

Jaishankar highlighted the significance of these interactions in a post on X, stating:

“Pleased to meet with Ministers Tayeb Zitouni of Algeria, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro of Bahrain, Lyonpo Namgyal Dorji of Bhutan, Nir Barkat of Israel, Adolfo Urso of Italy, Damodar Bhandari of Nepal, Serigne Gueye Diop of Senegal, Patricia de Lille of South Africa and Deputy Ministers Dr Rithi Pich of Cambodia, Minn Minn of Myanmar, Ahmed Mohammed Al Sayed of Qatar on the sidelines of the CII Partnership Summit 2024 in New Delhi. Good interaction with them along with my Cabinet colleague Piyush Goyal ji on the growth story of India and how India can partner with them on the global stage.”

The discussions involved notable international leaders, including:

  • Tayeb Zitouni (Algeria, Minister of Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation)
  • Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro (Bahrain, Minister of Industry and Commerce)
  • Lyonpo Namgyal Dorji (Bhutan, Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Employment)
  • Nir Barkat (Israel, Minister of Economy and Industry)
  • Adolfo Urso (Italy, Minister of Economic Development)
  • Damodar Bhandari (Nepal, Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies)
  • Serigne Gueye Diop (Senegal, Minister of Commerce and Trade)
  • Patricia de Lille (South Africa, Minister of Tourism)
  • Deputy Ministers Dr. Rithi Pich (Cambodia), Minn Minn (Myanmar), and Ahmed Mohammed Al Sayed (Qatar, Minister of State of Foreign Trade Affairs).

The summit, jointly organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), brought together leaders from 61 countries, featuring 30 global speakers and 11 international ministers. It focused on fostering international partnerships to promote a sustainable and prosperous future.

The CII Partnership Summit, an annual event since 1995, has become a key platform for global collaboration. The 2023 edition, held in March, saw participation from 67 countries, over 2,000 business delegates, and more than 400 international representatives.
