EAM Jaishankar To Visit France, EU, Belgium From June 8–14 to Boost Strategic Ties

New Delhi [India], June 8 : External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to embark on a key official visit to France, the European Union, and Belgium from June 8 to 14, 2025, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Sunday.

The visit aims to further deepen India’s strategic partnerships across Europe. Jaishankar will begin his trip in France, where he will hold high-level bilateral talks with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot in Paris and later participate in the inaugural Mediterranean Raisina Dialogue in Marseille.

“India and France have completed 25 years of strategic partnership rooted in mutual trust. Our cooperation spans strategic, regional, and global priorities,” the MEA stated.

While in France, the EAM will also engage with senior leaders, strategic think tanks, and media representatives.

Jaishankar will then travel to Brussels for meetings with top European Union officials, including the EU High Representative and Vice President Kaja Kallas. Discussions will focus on strengthening the India-EU strategic partnership, which recently received a boost during the first-ever visit of the EU College of Commissioners to India earlier this year.

The minister will also hold bilateral talks with Belgium’s Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot. The MEA noted the growing India-Belgium cooperation in sectors such as trade, green energy, pharmaceuticals, technology, and diamonds.

During the Belgium leg of his trip, Jaishankar is also scheduled to meet with members of the Indian diaspora.

“The visit will provide fresh momentum to India’s multifaceted ties with France, the EU, and Belgium,” the MEA affirmed.
