Dust, Thunder, Downpour: Delhi NCR Drenched In Sudden Storm

On Tuesday afternoon, a heavy downpour and a windstorm hit several parts of the National Capital Region (NCR), including Ghaziabad and Faridabad.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), areas like Greater Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad are expected to see moderate to intense rainfall over the next hour. The IMD also predicted that parts of Delhi would experience light to moderate rain within the subsequent hour. While the sky in Noida has turned cloudy, rain has not yet reached that area.

China Resumes Supply of Key Materials to India

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi assures EAM Jaishankar of renewed supply of fertilizers, rare earths, and tunnel machines.

In a step toward normalizing bilateral ties, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi assured India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Monday that his country would resume the supply of essential materials to India. These materials include fertilizers, rare earth minerals, and tunnel boring machines (TBMs).

EAM Jaishankar had raised the issue of these supplies during his visit to China last month. While the topic of border disputes was not discussed by the ministers, as it was reserved for the Special Representative Dialogue between NSA Ajit Doval and Wang Yi, the talks between Jaishankar and Wang Yi were described as cordial.

Jaishankar also reiterated India’s consistent position on Taiwan, stating that the country’s diplomatic presence is maintained for economic and cultural ties.

Additionally, both ministers acknowledged the current geopolitical climate, with US President Donald Trump’s policies being a “elephant in the meeting room.” Both sides agreed on the need for closer dialogue to navigate the uncertainty caused by Washington’s policies, which they believe could target both nations.

The agreement by China to resume these supplies is a significant development, as Beijing had previously halted imports for nearly a year. China provides around 30% of India’s fertilizers for agriculture, rare earths for auto parts, and TBMs for infrastructure projects.
