BJP MP Nishikant Dubey Accuses Congress, JMM Of Fueling Giridih Violence

New Delhi [India]: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Saturday blamed the Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) for the recent violence in Giridih, alleging that their policies have facilitated Bangladeshi infiltration, causing demographic shifts and unrest in the state.

Dubey accused the Congress of enabling illegal migration, which he claimed has destabilized the region. He emphasized the BJP’s demand for the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and delimitation, warning that without these measures, Jharkhand could face instability and even “merge with Bangladesh.”

Speaking to ANI, Dubey linked the recent violence in Giridih to broader demographic changes.

“A similar incident happened in my area on the day of Holika Dahan. I called up the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), and then the situation returned to normal. Before the Jharkhand assembly elections, the BJP had said that in 30 out of 81 assembly constituencies, voter turnout increased from 50% to 150%, which is because of Bangladeshi infiltrators,” Dubey claimed.

He further alleged that the tribal population in Jharkhand has decreased significantly, from 45% to 22-23%, while the Muslim population has risen from 9% to 28-29%.

“Vote bank politics is gripping the entire Jharkhand, and if there is no big mass movement against the Congress, we will lose the state,” Dubey warned.

The BJP MP also accused the Jharkhand Chief Minister of focusing solely on election victories, alleging that incidents during festivals such as Saraswati Puja, Durga Puja, Mahashivratri, Holi, and Eid were being exploited for political gain.

“If NRC and delimitation are not implemented, a separate state will be demanded, and Jharkhand will be merged with Bangladesh,” Dubey claimed.

Giridih Violence and Aftermath
The remarks follow recent communal tensions in Giridih, where violence erupted during a Holi procession. Several vehicles were torched, and the situation escalated into clashes between two communities.

BJP MP Deepak Prakash also criticized the state government, accusing it of oppressing the Hindu community and registering FIRs against BJP leaders to appease certain political groups.

The local administration assured that the situation is now under control. According to authorities, the violence started when a Holi procession passed through Ghodthambha Chowk, triggering an altercation that lasted about an hour.

Giridih SP Dr. Bimal confirmed that no major injuries were reported.

“Efforts are underway to identify the accused, and strong action will be taken against them,” he stated.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to maintain peace and stability in the region.
