Washington DC [US], June 13: Singer Dua Lipa has officially confirmed her engagement to actor Callum Turner, revealing a love story filled with fate and chance meetings. In a recent cover story with British Vogue, the “Houdini” singer opened up about their relationship, describing it as filled with “Sliding Doors moments.”
Lipa and Turner first crossed paths at The River Cafe in London while she was having dinner with her father. Reflecting on their connection, she said, “There’s a lot of Sliding Doors moments” that brought them together.
Interestingly, back in 2014, Lipa was working at La Bodega Negra, and there’s a photo of Turner outside the same spot. Fast forward to 2020, both attended the same pre-lockdown party — only an hour apart — with photos showing the same friend in the background.
“We have so many friends in common,” Lipa noted.
A year after meeting at The River Cafe, another coincidence occurred in Los Angeles when they bumped into each other at a restaurant. “Oh, it’s that really hot guy from The River Cafe,” she recalled thinking. The moment became even more memorable when Turner asked what she was reading, and they discovered they were both immersed in Trust by Hernan Diaz. “1000%,” Lipa said when asked if that made her believe they were meant to be.
Confirming their engagement in a recent interview, Lipa shared her joy with People, saying, “Yeah, we’re engaged. It’s very exciting.” She revealed that Turner designed the engagement ring with input from her best friends and sister. “I’m obsessed with it. It’s so me,” she added. “It’s nice to know the person that you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.”
Their relationship began in early 2024, when they were seen slow dancing at an afterparty for Turner’s Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air. They went Instagram official in July 2024 and made their red carpet debut at the 2025 Met Gala in May.
