Drone Debris Found In Srinagar And Amritsar Amid Escalating Indo-Pak Tensions; No Casualties Reported

Amid ongoing hostilities between India and Pakistan, unidentified debris suspected to be parts of a downed drone or projectile was recovered in Srinagar’s Lasjan area and Punjab’s Amritsar district early Saturday morning.

Srinagar: Narrow Escape for Locals in Lasjan

According to eyewitness Ashraf, residents of Lasjan heard a loud explosion around 5:45 AM, followed by a blast in the air. Soon after, fragments of an object were found scattered across rooftops and courtyards between homes. He promptly alerted local authorities.

“We didn’t know what it was… There are no casualties,” Ashraf told media.
Police later recovered the debris and began investigations.

Amritsar: Debris in Agricultural Fields

Simultaneously, villagers in Mughlani Kot, near Amritsar, reported a similar explosion around 5:00 AM. The debris was found in a charred agricultural field, with no injuries reported.

Village Sarpanch Gursahib Singh said,

“There was a loud blast… we believe it was a drone that was brought down. Not much damage happened.”

Other villagers supported the drone theory, pointing to parts strewn across the field and expressing confidence in India’s defense response.

“They are doing wrong, and we are giving a befitting reply,” a local said, referring to Pakistan.

Escalation Context: Indian Strikes on Pakistani Airbases

The incident occurred hours after India launched precision retaliatory strikes on four Pakistani airbases, following attacks by Pakistan on 26 locations across India, as per government sources.

The Ministry of Defence has placed the armed forces on high alert, confirming that armed drones have been sighted at 26 locations along the LoC and International Border. These include Baramulla, Srinagar, Jammu, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Bhuj, and Jaisalmer, among others.

MoD Statement: No Panic, But Stay Alert

“The Indian Armed Forces are tracking and engaging all aerial threats using counter-drone systems. Citizens, especially in border areas, should remain indoors, avoid unnecessary movement, and follow safety instructions strictly,” the MoD advised.

While no casualties have been reported in either Srinagar or Amritsar, these incidents reflect the rising risks from aerial intrusions and drone warfare in civilian zones.
