New Delhi [India]: Members of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) were detained by Delhi Police on Saturday while protesting outside Bihar Bhawan. The protest was held in solidarity with BPSC aspirants in Patna who faced a lathi-charge during their demonstration.
The protesters, holding posters and raising slogans, were demanding the cancellation of the Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on December 13.
Reports from Patna indicate that police used force on Wednesday to disperse aspirants marching toward the BPSC office. The aspirants have been calling for a re-examination of the CCE, alleging irregularities in the process.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Patna Sadar, Gaurav Kumar, previously stated that a board comprising five representatives would submit a memorandum to the BPSC secretary on behalf of the protesters.
Adding to the pressure, Jan Suraj chief Prashant Kishore issued an ultimatum to the Bihar government on Thursday. He demanded that the grievances of BPSC aspirants be addressed within three days or he would personally lead protests against the government.
