Dowry Murder Accused Shot After Trying to Escape Police Custody in Greater Noida

Today, the terrible dowry death case in Greater Noida took a new turn when Vipin Bhati, the prime suspect in the murder of his wife Nikki Bhati, was shot in the leg while trying to get away from the police. The event happened just a few hours after the victim’s father publicly called for the accused to be “shot” for the horrible murder.

Nikki, 28, died on Thursday after her husband Vipin and mother-in-law Daya allegedly beat her up and set her on fire because she wanted ₹36 lakh as a dowry. Nikki’s sister, Kanchan, is said to have filmed the terrible event, and the couple’s little kid was also there to see it.

After his wife died at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, Vipin was arrested. Police stated they shot him because he tried to get away when they were taking him to the hospital.

People are angry over the case since the victim’s family says they were tortured and abused for years. Bhikari Singh Payla, Nikki’s father, told NDTV that he wants the accused to be “shot and their home destroyed.” “They are murderers; they should be shot… My daughter was raising her son while running a business. He said, “They tortured her.”

Vipin is in police custody and getting treatment for his injury. His mother Daya, father Satyavir, and brother Rohit are all on the run, and police are looking for them.
