Donald Trump Sues The New York Times For $15 Billion, Calling It A ‘Degenerate Newspaper’

President Donald Trump said he is suing The New York Times for $15 billion on Monday, calling it the “worst and most degenerate newspaper” in American history. The President called the lawsuit “the single largest illegal campaign contribution EVER” and said the daily had become a “mouthpiece for the radical left democrat party” in a harsh post on his Truth Social platform.

Trump’s statement slammed The New York Times for endorsing Kamala Harris on the main page during the 2024 presidential race and for what he says is a long history of “lying” about him.

“The ‘Times’ has been lying about your favorite president (ME!), my family, business, the America First Movement, MAGA, and our Nation as a whole for decades,” Trump wrote. He said he is “PROUD to hold this once respected ‘rag’ responsible,” which is similar to how he has sued media companies he calls “Fake News Networks” in the past. He said that “successful litigation” against George Stephanopoulos/ABC/Disney and 60 Minutes/CBS/Paramount was because they were “falsely ‘smearing'” him through “a malicious form of defamation.”

The complaint comes barely a week after The New York Times said the President had threatened to sue them for how they covered his purported sexually provocative letters to Jeffrey Epstein. Last week, Congress made these notes public. They were supposedly written for Epstein’s 50th birthday. President Trump and the White House have always denied his involvement, calling the official documents a “fabrication.”
