TURNBERRY, Scotland — A new “cheating” scandal has come out because of a video of US President Donald Trump playing golf while he was in Scotland. Many people on social media have accused the 79-year-old President of “cheating at golf” after seeing a video that looks like a caddie throwing a ball into the light rough near a bunker. Golf is a sport he is known to adore.
The White House and President Trump have not yet replied on these latest accusations.
One person who used X uploaded the video and said, “Trump caught cheating at golf; watch the second guy in the red vest throw a ball behind him.” Someone else said, “Watch his caddy drop the ball in a better spot for him.” He cheated on his wife with kids first, and now he’s cheating at golf. What will he not do?
The footage, which was supposedly shot during Trump’s round on Saturday, July 26, 2025, shows him driving a golf cart to a bunker. After that, a caddie drops a ball just short of the sand trap. Trump then walks up and strikes the ball from this new spot, which leads to the charges. These assertions are similar to ones that have been made in the past, like the ones in Rick Reilly’s book Commander in Cheat, which talks about how the President is said to have changed strokes while playing golf. Reilly, who has played with Trump, said that the President says he “can’t lose” and will “do anything to cheat.”
Some people, especially Democrats, have criticized President Trump’s trip to Scotland, which included scheduled talks with EU and UK officials. They pointed out that he spent a lot of time at his Turnberry and Aberdeen golf clubs.
President Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made a historic accord on Sunday at his golf club in Turnberry, Scotland, which is another piece of news from his trip. The deal means that most of the EU’s exports, including cars, would be subject to 15% tariffs. This will happen less than a week before Trump’s harsher tariffs go into force. We don’t know all the details of the deal yet.
