Los Angeles, March 4 : Dolly Parton has announced the passing of her beloved husband, Carl Dean, who was 82 years old. The country music icon shared the sad news through a heartfelt social media post. The cause of Dean’s death has not been revealed.
Parton expressed her sorrow on Instagram, saying, “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending.” She also mentioned that Dean is survived by his siblings, Sandra and Donnie, and asked for privacy during this difficult time.
After the announcement, condolences poured in from fans and celebrities alike, with Khloe Kardashian sharing her sympathy: “Oh my heart! I am so sorry for your loss! My heart aches for you! My deepest condolences. Praying for you and sending you love and prayers.”
Parton and Dean, who married in 1966, spent nearly six decades together. Their relationship began when Parton was just 18, and they tied the knot in a small ceremony in Ringgold, Georgia, with Parton’s mother present. Despite Parton’s rise to fame, Dean was rarely seen in the public eye.
In 2016, to mark their 50th wedding anniversary, Parton’s official website featured a tribute to the couple, including a rare photo of them together. Parton also shared that she wrote the song “From Here to the Moon and Back” with Dean in mind, dedicating it to their enduring love.
