Delhi Metro has introduced special measures to facilitate students commuting for their CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams, starting today, February 15. These measures aim to provide a smoother and hassle-free travel experience during the exam period.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Friday that students carrying their CBSE Admit Cards will be given priority during security checks at metro stations. They will also receive priority while purchasing tickets at Ticket Office Machines (TOM) and Customer Care (CC) centres.
This year, over 44 lakh students from 8,000 schools, both in India and abroad, will appear for the exams. The exams are set to take place from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM across 7,842 centres in India and 26 locations abroad.
To support the approximately 3.30 lakh students and thousands of school staff traveling across the city, DMRC, in partnership with CISF, has implemented special measures to accommodate the increased footfall during the exam days, which will continue until April 4.
“DMRC in partnership with CISF is implementing special facilitation measures at metro stations to accommodate the increased footfall on examination days,” the announcement read.
Student-friendly initiatives include DMRC staff visiting schools to inform students about nearby metro stations and available support. Schools have also been asked to display posters with metro station details and QR codes for easy ticket booking. Special centralized announcements will be made at metro stations, and a list of metro stations closest to exam centres is available on the DMRC website and mobile app for quick reference.
The Class 10 exams will run until March 18, while Class 12 exams conclude on April 4. CBSE has designed the exam schedule with sufficient gaps between major subjects to ease the examination process for students.
