Los Angeles [US], April 5: Disney has dropped the official trailer for Tron: Ares, the third installment in the iconic Tron franchise, following the 1982 classic and 2010’s Tron: Legacy, according to Variety.
The upcoming sci-fi epic is headlined by Jared Leto, who stars as Ares, a program from the digital world assigned to cross into the real world. The film also marks the return of original star Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn, continuing his legacy from the previous films.
Joining the cast are Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, and Gillian Anderson. Notably, Evan Peters portrays Julian Dillinger — a character potentially connected to David Warner’s Ed Dillinger, the original film’s antagonist.
The trailer teases a thrilling collision between the real world and the digital landscape of Tron, setting the stage for a high-stakes adventure that expands the franchise’s universe.
Tron: Ares is set to hit theaters on October 10.
