Nearly five years after the tragic demise of celebrity manager Disha Salian, her father, Satish Salian, has moved the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh probe into her death.
Satish Salian recently lodged a written complaint with the Mumbai Police Commissioner, demanding the registration of an FIR against Aaditya Thackeray and others, accusing them of gang rape and murder of his daughter.
Allegations Against High-Profile Figures
As per his advocate Nilesh Ojha, the complaint was accepted by the Joint Commissioner of Police. The accused in the case include:
- Aaditya Thackeray (Shiv Sena leader)
- Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh
- Suspended officer Sachin Vaze
- Actor Aditya Pancholi
Satish Salian’s Statement
Speaking to ANI on Thursday, Satish Salian claimed that he was initially misled into believing that his daughter had died by suicide. He also alleged that former Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar had visited him, urging him to accept the suicide narrative.
“Kishori Pednekar (former Mumbai Mayor) had visited me at my residence. She told me that the media is showing incorrect things about my daughter, which is not good. She said that they have come to put an end to it. I was being told that this was suicide and nothing else. Police told me that they have her phone call records, places where she went, and people she met. So, I was misled, that there was no foul play, that it was a suicide,” he stated.
Background of the Case
Disha Salian passed away on June 8, 2020, after allegedly falling from the 14th floor of a building in Malad, Mumbai. Her death occurred six days before the mysterious demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020.
This latest development comes at a time when the CBI has reportedly submitted a closure report on the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, ruling out any foul play.
