Thane (Maharashtra) [India], March 23: After the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitted its closure report on the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the advocate representing Disha Salian’s father has stated that the report holds no value before the law and that the court can still take cognizance and order further investigation.
Advocate Nilesh C Ojha emphasized, “No clean chit has been given. People are running a false narrative. This closure report has no such value before law. After the closure report, the court can still take cognizance of the murder case, issue an arrest warrant, or order for further investigation. Just like it happened in the case of Aarushi Talwar.”
Ojha, who is representing Disha Salian’s father, has demanded a fresh investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of his daughter, including the interrogation of UBT-Shiv Sena’s Aditya Thackeray.
Disha Salian was found dead on June 8, 2020, just days before Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his Mumbai flat on June 14, 2020.
The CBI had submitted its closure report on Sushant Singh Rajput’s death on Saturday, sources confirmed. This closure report was filed in a Mumbai court nearly five years after Rajput’s death.
Sushant, aged 34, was found dead in his Bandra residence, which triggered widespread controversy. The investigation into his death was later taken over by the CBI. The postmortem report from Cooper Hospital in Mumbai confirmed asphyxia as the cause of death.
The Bombay High Court has listed the writ petition in the Disha Salian case and will hear it on April 2.
In response to the growing allegations, Aditya Thackeray criticized those linking him to Disha Salian’s death, stating that they had been trying to defame him for the past five years. Thackeray also remarked that since the case is now in court, he would refrain from making further comments until the legal proceedings conclude.
“A lot of people have tried to defame me for the last five years. If the matter is in court, then we will speak in court,” Thackeray told the media.
