In a show of resilience, Bollywood star Disha Patani made her first public appearance on Saturday, attending the Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2026 event in New York City. The appearance comes just a day after a frightening incident where shots were fired at her father’s residence in Bareilly.
Patani, a brand ambassador for Calvin Klein, shared a joint post with the fashion house on Instagram showing her smiling and posing for paparazzi in a black outfit and heels. The post drew an outpouring of support from fans and celebrities, including Mouni Roy, who commented, “My baby.” Fans expressed relief and praised her for her strength, with one person writing, “Great to see that million dollars smile back.”
The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, when two motorbike-borne assailants fired what her father, retired police officer Jagdish Patani, estimated to be “8-10 rounds” at their home. He told news agency ANI that the gunshots were from a “foreign-made” weapon.
The firing has since been claimed by the Goldy Brar gang. A social media post from a gang member, Veerendra Charan, stated that the attack was a “trailer” in retaliation for alleged insults made by Patani’s sister, Khushboo Patani, toward revered saints and Sanatan Dharma. The post warned that “not a single person in their house will be left alive” if such “disrespect” is shown again, with the threat extended to the entire film industry.
Bareilly police have since registered an FIR and deployed five special teams, including the Special Operations Group (SOG), to investigate the shooting. Jagdish Patani, who himself is a retired police officer, stated that he came to know about the Goldy Brar group’s involvement through social media, but that it was not yet clear.
On the work front, Disha Patani is set to star in a cameo role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s new film with Shahid Kapoor and will also be seen in Welcome to the Jungle, the third installment of the Welcome franchise.
