In the photo, a pensive Dipika Kakar rests her head on her hand, looking directly at the camera. Her simple yet powerful message on the post read, “Days when the treatment hits hard, and even the simplest things feel heavy.” The update comes over two months after she was diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer following a visit to the hospital for stomach pain.

In May, the actor had shared an emotional post detailing her diagnosis, where a routine check-up revealed a “tennis ball-sized” malignant tumor in her liver. The unexpected news, she said, marked “one of the most difficult times we have seen, experienced!”
An Aggressive Tumour and Ongoing Therapy
Dipika underwent a grueling 14-hour-long surgery in June to remove the tumor. Following the procedure, her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, provided a crucial health update, revealing that while she was now “cancer-free,” the tumor was “grade three and poorly differentiated.” This classification meant it was “quite aggressive,” and doctors warned of a significant risk of recurrence.
To mitigate this risk, Dipika has since started a course of targeted therapy, which she has revealed causes side effects such as hair fall and body rashes. Her treatment is expected to continue for up to two years as a precautionary measure.
Before her diagnosis, Dipika Kakar was a prominent face on Indian television, having recently starred in shows like Celebrity MasterChef, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11, and Sasural Simar Ka 2.
