Mumbai, India – June 16: Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, known for his soulful storytelling and iconic films like Rockstar and Jab We Met, received warm birthday wishes from several Bollywood stars, including actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh, Rakul Preet Singh, and Aditi Rao Hydari.
Taking to his Instagram Story, Diljit shared a picture of Imtiaz holding a framed photo from their recent collaboration Amar Singh Chamkila. He captioned it:
“Sir Happy very very birthday. Baut pyaar and respect.”
Actor Rakul Preet Singh also extended her wishes, writing on Instagram:
“Wishing you the best year ever @imtiazaliofficial sir filled with great health, greater ideas and everything you desire!”
Aditi Rao Hydari shared a heartfelt message:
“Happy birthday to the rockstar with a sufi soul,” along with a picture of the celebrated director.
New Web Series and Big-Screen Project Announced
Imtiaz Ali is currently working on the upcoming Netflix web series ‘O Saathi Re’, featuring Aditi Rao Hydari, Arjun Rampal, and Avinash Tiwary.
In addition, Imtiaz has announced a new untitled feature film starring Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari. The film will begin shooting in August 2025 and is set for a Baisakhi 2026 release in theatres.
Renowned composer A.R. Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil are once again teaming up with Imtiaz to deliver a memorable musical experience.
Sharing his vision, Imtiaz quoted legendary poet Momin Khan Momin:
“Tum mere paas hote ho goya, Jab koi doosra nahin hota.”
He added:
“This film has a big heart and a large canvas, yet is deeply personal. It’s a story of a boy and a girl, but also a country. Wish us well as we dive into this dynamic story—we hope to emerge with a touching cinematic experience by next year.”
