On Monday, Diljit ascended the steps of New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in a look that fused cultural heritage with modern elegance. The globally celebrated singer and actor wore a custom ensemble by designer Prabal Gurung, styled to reflect the regality of a Maharaja.
His outfit featured a traditional turban — a powerful symbol of Sikh identity — paired with a kurta and tehmat (draped bottoms). The look was enhanced with bold accessories, including a ceremonial sword and a dramatic cape inscribed with Punjabi alphabets, proudly showcasing his cultural roots on a global platform.
Reports suggest that Diljit’s stunning jewellery was curated from the legendary Cartier collection of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, further grounding his ensemble in historical significance.
This Met Gala appearance marked a milestone for Diljit, as he became the first turbaned actor-singer to debut at the event, often dubbed Hollywood’s biggest fashion night.
