Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], December 15: Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh dedicated his ‘Dil-Luminati’ concert in Chandigarh on Saturday to India’s newly crowned International Chess Federation (FIDE) World Champion, Gukesh Dommaraju. During the concert, Diljit lauded Gukesh’s relentless hard work and determination from a young age, which led him to achieve his remarkable dreams.
Taking to Instagram, Diljit shared a video from the concert, expressing his admiration for Gukesh. “This concert is dedicated to the world chess champion Gukesh,” he announced to the audience. He also emphasized the importance of overcoming life’s challenges, stating that those who know how to face them are the ones who ultimately reach their goals.Gukesh made history earlier in the week by becoming the youngest champion in the sport’s history, defeating China’s Ding Liren in the final match of the FIDE World Championship.
The match, which was tied at 6.5-6.5 heading into the final game, ended with Gukesh securing a 7.5-6.5 victory. He received his FIDE World Championship trophy the following day, celebrating his incredible achievement.During the concert, Diljit also referenced the famous dialogue from the movie Pushpa, starring Allu Arjun, saying “Saala nahi jhukega toh kya jija jhuk jayega,” a playful twist on the iconic line “Jhukega Nahi.”Meanwhile, Pushpa 2: The Rule has shattered box office records, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, grossing Rs 1,000 crore worldwide within just seven days of its release.
Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media, the film stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in key roles.The concert was attended by several notable guests, including the wife of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. However, prior to the show, the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) issued an advisory urging Diljit to refrain from performing alcohol-themed songs.
The advisory, issued by CCPCR chairperson Shipra Bansal, specifically mentioned tracks like Patiala Peg, 5 Tara, and Case, advising against any performances that promote alcohol, drugs, or violence.This follows a similar advisory from the Telangana government, which had issued a legal notice to Diljit in November, requesting that he avoid songs promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence during his performances.
