The much-anticipated sequel to the 2005 blockbuster No Entry has hit an early snag, with actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh officially stepping away from the project. The film, titled No Entry 2, is set to be directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Boney Kapoor, with a new cast including Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor. It was originally scheduled to begin filming in October 2025.
Confirming the development, producer Boney Kapoor told media, “Yes, we have parted in good spirits as the dates were not aligning with our requirements, hopefully, we will soon do a Punjabi film together.”
According to reports, the primary reason for Dosanjh’s departure is a conflict with his incredibly busy schedule. His upcoming Aura Tour across Australia and New Zealand is slated to run from October 26 to November 13, directly clashing with the film’s production timeline. As one of the most in-demand stars in both the music and film industries, Dosanjh is currently juggling back-to-back projects along with his international commitments.
This latest development comes after producer Boney Kapoor had previously admitted that not being able to bring back the original lead trio of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan was a “loss.” At a recent event, he shared, “We waited for almost 8 to 10 years but somehow things didn’t happen. We will miss them. And now we are trying to give a fresh start with a younger lot of actors.” He added that despite the new cast, the absence of the original three stars, who were “most loved,” will be felt.
The original No Entry, a massive comedy hit from 2005, recently celebrated its 20th anniversary on August 26. In addition to the three male leads, the film also featured Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, and Celina Jaitly. With the official announcement of the sequel last year, Kapoor and Bazmee promised to give a fresh spin to the beloved comedy, which was one of the biggest box office successes of its time.
