Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], December 1: Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh delivered a high-energy performance in front of a packed audience in Kolkata on Saturday as part of his ‘Dil-Luminati Tour 2024.’ Sharing a fun-filled moment with his fans on Instagram, Diljit also took a moment during the show to speak about his admiration for Kolkata’s passion for cricket and its iconic “Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo” slogan, associated with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team.
In his speech, Diljit shared an inspirational message, quoting KKR’s famous tagline, “Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re.” He praised the slogan, especially as it belongs to Shahrukh Khan’s team, noting, “Ye bohot achi tagline hain… Hume kyuki hum sir ke fan hain,” adding that it serves as a great mantra for hard work, determination, and teamwork. He encouraged the audience to give 100 percent, saying, “Agar aap 199 percent mehnat karte hain toh jeet ke paas koi option nahi rh jaata.”
The singer also spoke about Kolkata’s rich cultural heritage, calling it the “City of Joy.” He expressed pride in the city’s connection to legendary figures such as spiritual leaders and Rabindranath Tagore. Diljit shared an anecdote from Tagore’s life, quoting the poet’s response to a suggestion to write a world anthem, where Tagore humbly acknowledged Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s contribution in the 15th century.
Before the concert, Diljit explored some of Kolkata’s iconic landmarks, including the historic Indian Coffee House, where he enjoyed a cup of hot milk coffee while soaking in the view of the city. Diljit’s team posted pictures and videos of his visit to the venue, where he smiled warmly at the server and took in the sights from a window seat.
On Friday, Diljit also visited the Dakshineswar Temple, offering prayers and meditating in the serene atmosphere. He further delighted fans by taking a ride in Kolkata’s iconic yellow taxi and spending time by the scenic Hooghly River.
The Kolkata concert was part of Diljit’s ‘Dil-Luminati Tour 2024,’ which started in New Delhi in October. The tour will continue in Bengaluru on December 6, Indore on December 8, Chandigarh on December 14, and Guwahati on December 29.
