Diljit Dosanjh Breaks Silence Amid Hania Aamir Controversy, Drops Cryptic Post On Social Media

New Delhi [India], June 24: Amid growing controversy over his collaboration with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has posted a cryptic message on social media, stirring further speculation.

The controversy erupted after the announcement of his upcoming film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, which features Hania Aamir and has drawn criticism due to ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.

On Instagram, Diljit shared a cryptic post saying:
“Censored before release?”

The post was in reference to his long-delayed film ‘Punjab 95’, which has faced repeated hurdles due to censorship issues. Directed by Honey Trehan and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the film is based on the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra, a human rights activist who exposed violations during Punjab’s insurgency period.

Meanwhile, ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, a fantasy horror-comedy and the third installment in the popular Punjabi franchise, continues to make headlines—not just for its storyline but also for the casting controversy.

Despite the backlash, Diljit is actively promoting the film internationally.
He captioned the film’s trailer release with:
“Sardaar Ji 3 Releasing 27th June Overseas Only. FADH LAO BHOOND DIAN LATTAN.”

However, the trailer’s release triggered a wave of criticism on social media, with many Indian users expressing disappointment over his decision to work with a Pakistani artist.

Following the uproar, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) condemned Diljit and his team, calling for strict action. They demanded that the Indian government revoke the filmmaker’s passports and impose a nationwide ban on the film’s release in India.

FWICE accused Hania Aamir of holding anti-India views and being involved in spreading propaganda against India, stating that such collaborations go against national sentiment.
