Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster spy thriller Dhurandhar continues to draw praise from across the film industry, with actor Tisca Chopra calling the Ranveer Singh-led film a “reset button” for Hindi cinema rather than just another box office success.
Released on December 5, Dhurandhar has shattered records to become the highest-grossing film of 2025. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead, alongside Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal.
Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, Tisca wrote that she was still in a “Dhurandhar hangover.” Posting an AI-generated image of herself in Lyari, the Pakistan neighbourhood where the film is set, she described the film as a turning point for the industry.
“The film is not just a hit, it is a reset button. From here on: no more ‘projects’. Story, craft, performance, authenticity. Or go home,” she wrote, underlining the impact the film had on her.
Tisca reserved special praise for the performances, calling Akshaye Khanna the “reinvention king” and applauding Ranveer Singh’s screen presence. She also lauded R Madhavan’s intense, vanity-free performance, Sanjay Dutt’s solidity, Arjun Rampal’s menacing turn and Sara Arjun’s standout role.
The actor went on to commend the film’s technical brilliance, praising the cinematography, casting, editing, prosthetics, music and sound design. She credited the entire team for delivering a compelling cinematic experience, adding that every department rose to the challenge.
Concluding her note, Tisca openly admitted to “fangirling” over the film and expressed excitement for what lies ahead. Director Aditya Dhar responded in the comments, thanking her for the appreciation.
Dhurandhar is set in Pakistan and follows the story of an Indian spy infiltrating terror networks operating out of Lyari. The sequel to the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19.
