Six weeks into its historic theatrical run, Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s spy juggernaut Dhurandhar has achieved the unthinkable. As of Tuesday, January 13, 2026, the film has officially surpassed the North American lifetime gross of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, ending a nine-year reign for the Prabhas-starrer in that territory.

According to trade sources, Dhurandhar has now grossed $21 million (approx. ₹176 crore) across the United States and Canada, edging past the $20.7 million milestone set by Baahubali 2 in 2017.
The Giant Killer: Surpassing the Greats
By crossing the $21 million mark, Dhurandhar has climbed to the top of the North American charts, leaving behind several of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema history:
| Rank | Movie | North America Gross (approx.) |
| 1 | Dhurandhar | $21.0 Million |
| 2 | Baahubali 2: The Conclusion | $20.7 Million |
| 3 | Kalki 2898 AD | $18.5 Million |
| 4 | Pathaan | $17.5 Million |
| 5 | Jawan | $15.6 Million |
| 6 | RRR | $15.3 Million |
Worldwide Status: A Rare Feat
Despite a shadow ban in the Middle East—which trade analysts estimate cost the film an additional $10 million (₹85–90 crore)—Dhurandhar remains unstoppable.
- Global Gross: Currently at ₹1296 crore, sitting just on the edge of the elite ₹1300 crore club.
- Domestic Dominance: In India, it has netted over ₹810 crore, making it the highest-grossing Hindi film domestically, surpassing Jawan.
- The “All-Time” List: It currently ranks as the 4th highest-grossing Indian film ever globally, trailing only Dangal, Baahubali 2, and Pushpa 2: The Rule.

Why ‘Dhurandhar’ is Winning
The film’s success is being attributed to its “slick, urban appeal” and a powerhouse ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R. Madhavan. Director Aditya Dhar, who previously helmed Uri: The Surgical Strike, is being lauded for delivering a “content-driven blockbuster” that has seen an unprecedented Week 2 jump—earning more in its second week than its first.
What’s Next?
While the momentum has slightly slowed with the arrival of Prabhas’s The Raja Saab and the impending release of Border 2 on January 23, Dhurandhar is expected to cross the ₹1300 crore mark by the coming weekend. Additionally, excitement for ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is already reaching a fever pitch, with reports suggesting a March 2026 release.
