Dharmendra’s Physiotherapist Shares Five Lifestyle Pillars Behind the Actor’s Strength in His 80s

Bollywood legend Dharmendra, oncethe industry’s original ‘He-Man’ for his powerful screen presence and muscular physique, continues to inspire even in his late 80s. As the actor celebrates his 90th birthday on December 8, his physiotherapist, Dr. Amit Kohli, reflects on the disciplined lifestyle and unwavering willpower that have kept the star energetic and healthy through the years.

Dr. Kohli, a rehabilitation expert specialising in orthopaedic manual therapy and aquatic therapy, describes Dharmendra’s willpower as “heroic,” noting that the same spirit audiences admired on screen resonates just as strongly in his real life. “Even in his 80s, Dharmendra ji followed a remarkably disciplined lifestyle. Willpower is the real engine of life, and he embodied that like no one else. Even on tough days, he would smile and say, ‘Chalo, thoda karte hain… haar nahi maanni.’ His attitude was priceless,” he shared in an interview with Health Shots.

Dharmendra’s Instagram posts over recent months have offered heartwarming glimpses into his routine at his farmhouse, where he regularly spoke about the benefits of physiotherapy and aqua therapy. Videos of him flexing his muscles or discussing his mobility sessions revealed how strongly he believes in movement, therapy, and staying positive. His appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show in 2022 also highlighted his commitment to an active lifestyle and the joy he finds in staying physically engaged.

As Dr. Kohli outlines, the actor’s sustained strength is built on five foundational pillars: disciplined fitness, consistent movement, restorative therapy, a positive mindset, and an unshakeable inner drive — qualities that continue to make Dharmendra an enduring inspiration.
