Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh): Despite the cold weather, a large congregation of devotees gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on Wednesday to participate in the ongoing Mahakumbh. As of today, nearly 8.81 crore people have already taken the sacred dip in the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati.
The spiritual atmosphere was enhanced with the morning Aarti held at the Ghats, as devotees paid homage and performed rituals. The Mahakumbh continues to draw millions of people seeking blessings and spiritual rejuvenation.
In a modern development at the event, Uttar Pradesh’s first double-decker bus restaurant, named ‘Pumpkin,’ was inaugurated in Maha Kumbh city on Monday. This unique eatery, featuring a kitchen on the ground floor and a dining area on the first floor, can accommodate up to 25 guests, offering a vegetarian menu.
Today, a special Cabinet meeting of the Uttar Pradesh government is scheduled in Prayagraj. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with all 54 ministers of the state, will convene at Triveni Sankul in Arail at 12 noon to discuss and approve key proposals and schemes for the state’s development. This meeting will be followed by the entire cabinet taking a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, a ritual symbolic of purification and renewal.
This is not the first time CM Yogi has led his cabinet to the Sangam. In 2019, during the Kumbh Mela, he performed a ceremonial dip with his ministers and other key figures, including Akhada Parishad President Narendra Giri and spiritual leaders.
To ensure the comfort of pilgrims, the venue for the Cabinet meeting was moved from the initially planned Mela Authority Auditorium to Triveni Sankul, Arail, to avoid VIP security disrupting the flow of devotees at the Sangam.
