New Delhi [India], May 21: Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, along with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and other leaders, led a spirited Tiranga Yatra in the national capital today, paying tribute to the Indian Armed Forces for their pivotal role in Operation Sindoor.
Addressing a large gathering during the event, Sirsa praised the bravery of Indian soldiers and stated:
“We are very happy that our army showed bravery. Today, we salute their bravery. All the people of the Sikh community have taken out this rally in honour of our army. We also salute that brave mother who gave birth to that brave son, who went 100 kilometres inside and destroyed the enemy…”
He also took a sharp swipe at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, questioning his patriotism:
“The feeling of patriotism can only be felt by those who are residents of this country. Rahul Gandhi’s mother, Sonia Gandhi, is not from this country… He takes donations from China, opens his office in Turkey, and speaks the language of Pakistan.”
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta: “Sikh Community Has Always Led National Unity”
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who participated in the Yatra alongside BJP leaders including Ashish Sood, praised the Sikh community for their historic commitment to national service:
“Our Khalsa Panth has always been at the forefront for the protection and unity of the country. Today’s Tiranga Yatra is a message that every Sikh in this country stands ready to sacrifice for the motherland.”
BJP’s Nationwide Tiranga Yatra to Continue Till May 23
Earlier on Monday, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Smriti Irani, and BJP Mahila Morcha president Vanathi Srinivasan also led a Tiranga Yatra in the capital.
Irani highlighted the emotional and symbolic significance of Operation Sindoor:
“It’s not just a military mission, it’s a pledge that our Armed Forces will respond every time the women of our nation are targeted. It’s a message to terrorists: India stands united.”
The BJP’s Tiranga Yatra, launched on May 13, will run until May 23. The campaign is aimed at commemorating the valour of Indian soldiers and raising awareness among citizens about the success of Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.
