January 5, 2025: In his address to the ‘Parivartan Rally’ at Japanese Park in Rohini, Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a fervent appeal to the voters of the national capital, urging them to give the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) an opportunity to lead the city in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections.
PM Modi criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led government in Delhi, describing it as a “tragedy” and a “failed” administration, using the term “AAP-DA” to symbolize its perceived shortcomings. He emphasized that under BJP’s leadership, Delhi could become an essential part of the vision for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) in the coming years.
Highlighting the government’s role in development, he pointed out that the BJP had already undertaken major projects worth thousands of crores for the city. PM Modi stressed that the next 25 years were critical for India’s future, particularly for Delhi’s contribution to making India the world’s third-largest economic power.
PM Modi also reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to good governance, welfare, and development. He pointed to the party’s success in other states like Haryana and Odisha, where voters repeatedly gave the BJP the mandate for governance, confident in its track record. With this in mind, he expressed optimism for a BJP victory in Delhi’s upcoming elections.
In a lighter moment, PM Modi also mentioned his interaction with school children while riding the newly inaugurated Namo Bharat train, marking the beginning of high-speed mobility options in Delhi.
By combining his pitch for BJP’s governance with promises of infrastructural and economic growth, PM Modi aimed to rally support for his party ahead of the crucial 2025 elections.
