A powerful early morning storm in Delhi turned tragic on Friday as four members of a family—including a 26-year-old woman and her three children—were killed when a neem tree fell on a tubewell room in Kharkhari Canal village, Dwarka.
According to Delhi Police, the incident occurred due to strong winds accompanying the heavy rainfall that hit parts of the national capital. The family was taking shelter inside a tubewell room on their farmland when the tree collapsed.
The deceased were identified as Jyoti, 26, and her three children. Her husband, Ajay, was rescued with minor injuries and is currently recovering.
Emergency services including the police and fire brigade rushed to the site and helped pull the victims from the debris. They were transported to RTR Hospital in Jafferpur Kalan, where Jyoti and her children were declared dead on arrival.
