Delhi will unveil its first-ever official logo on November 1, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Saturday. The logo will be released on Delhi Day (Foundation Day), marking a historic milestone for the national capital.
A special committee formed by the Chief Minister reviewed entries received through an all-India logo competition earlier in the day. The committee, chaired by Gupta, included Cabinet ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh and Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Chief Secretary Rajeev Verma, and other senior officials.
“It is a privilege for my government to have the opportunity to select Delhi’s official logo. This logo will establish the unique identity of the capital as a new emblem,” Gupta said.
About the Logo
The competition, held last month on the mygov.in portal, attracted over 1,800 entries from across India. After careful deliberations, the final design was shortlisted and will be formally approved and unveiled on November 1.
The logo is expected to embody:
Delhi’s distinct identity
Modern, transparent, and people-centric governance
Vibrancy, unity, and progress
Democratic values, technological advancement, and civic participation
CM Gupta emphasized that unlike most other Indian states, Delhi had no official logo until now. She said her government initiated the design process soon after taking office to establish a permanent emblem representing the city.
“The selected logo will reflect harmony between Delhi’s rich culture and its developmental vision, positioning the capital as a strong brand symbol,” Gupta added.
