A 52-year-old woman from Dhul Siras village in Delhi is undergoing treatment after suffering a gunshot wound, allegedly inflicted by her own son, police confirmed on Sunday. The accused, 25-year-old Abhishek, has a criminal record, with six previous cases, including culpable homicide and outraging the modesty of women.
The Incident and the Cover-up
Initially, both the woman and her husband told police that she was shot by an unknown assailant. However, officers noticed inconsistencies in their statements and began questioning other family members.
The investigation took a dramatic turn when Abhishek confessed during interrogation, admitting he had shot his mother and tried to mislead the police.

Police revealed that Abhishek is no stranger to the law. His six prior cases include serious offenses such as:
- Culpable homicide
- Outraging the modesty of women
- Other criminal activities

The mother is currently hospitalised and receiving treatment, with no update yet on her condition.
